Interpreting popular media about what to eat and what to avoid is overwhelming because it is changing daily. Is red meat good? Is fish full of mercury and possibly radiation? Is soy safe? Should I add whole grains or avoid grains completely? How much fat is healthy? These questions cannot be answered for you unless someone knows you, your health history and your goals. Our doctors take into consideration all of your medical conditions, genetic factors and your symptoms before making nutritional recommendations. Therefore, we don’t employ any one popular diet: paleo, vegan, vegetarian, pescitarian, anti-inflammatory, FODMAPS, mediterranean, zone, ketogenic or GAPS; but, rather we utilize components from ALL of them that are appropriate and relevant to customize a diet that meets your nutritional needs. This is truly individualized nutritional care.
Our doctors offer tests to pinpoint nutritional excess’ and deficiencies. Testing includes vitamins, minerals, amino acids, essential fatty acids and antioxidants. We also test for food sensitivities to determine if you are eating foods that should be eliminated. Many people do not realize that their food is contributing to their medical complaint.
It is recommended to bring in a 3 day diet diary into your first appointment. This allows us to have a comprehensive understanding of your current diet so we can start to make recommendations during your visit.
